is partnering with a growing construction company seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Manager. This role is ideal for someone experienced in overseeing accounting operations in contracting environments, including month-end close, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and team management. Base pay range
$80,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Oversee accounts payable, including vendor invoices, subcontractor payments, and employee reimbursements. Manage accounts receivable, including client invoicing, tracking payments, and resolving discrepancies. Lead month-end close activities: journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and credit cards. Track project costs (labor, materials, subcontractors) and ensure accurate job costing. Prepare management reporting: cash flow, budget vs. actual, and project profitability. Collaborate with project managers to review invoices, change orders, and project-related transactions. Maintain organized accounting records and documentation. Assist with year-end audits and tax preparation. Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Manage and mentor accounting staff. Support payroll processing and related reporting. Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Bachelor’s preferred. 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in construction or contracting, with supervisory or team leadership experience. Proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting software; strong Excel skills. Knowledge of construction accounting and job costing preferred. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines. Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with project managers, vendors, and leadership.
