Position Summary:
Management role in accounting providing expertise, knowledge, and guidance in the key accounting functions. Key functions include Corporate Consolidations, revenue, inventory, taxes, fixed assets, payroll, and general accounting. Participates in, and or helps lead accounting personnel in closing of financial books, reporting, taxes, and analysis of financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct accountants as appropriate toward completion of key accounting and control objectives
Supervise/prepare monthly account analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts
Ensure accurate and timely consolidation and preparation of monthly reporting package for parent company.
Ensure intercompany and related party transactions are identified, properly recorded, and eliminated.
Prepare quarterly and annual US GAAP consolidated financial statements including footnotes and related support.
Maintains a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure.
Achieves accounting objectives by contributing accounting information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews.
Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance workflow of the department.
Provides training to new and existing staff as needed.
Analyzes complex financial reports and records.
Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls
Responsible for timely and accurate consolidation and preparation of internal financial statements for the parent company with operations domestically and internationally
Lead / own consolidation software, Host Analytics, upon project launch
Support extern audit request
Prepare journal entries as relates to consolidation of sites/legal entities in a timely manner
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual US GAAP consolidated financial statements including footnotes and related support.
Maintains a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure
Analyze financial statements monthly and analyze/report variances
Achieves accounting objectives by contributing accounting information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews.
Identify accounting and control issues and recommend, develop, and implement solutions
Ensure accounting policies and procedures are accurate and current, complying with GAAP, for area of responsibility
Provide GAAP research as needed to support continuing operations
Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance workflow of the department.
Provides training to new and existing staff as needed.
Analyzes complex financial reports and records.
Be able to mentor, coach and develop rest of staff
Must Have:
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting and or accounting management
Minimum 3 years of corporate consolidation
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting
High volume accounting experience
Strong understanding of accounting theory
In depth level knowledge of all accounting functions and related internal controls, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, inventory, revenue recognition, payroll, and general accounting
Good knowledge of US GAAP and willingness to research and resolve accounting application
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Auditing skills, with the ability to research and reconcile difficult accounts
Excellent written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
Experience with using multiple accounting systems in a manual environment required
Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) system knowledge and implementation is a plus
Detail oriented and organized in work
Ability to meet assigned deadlines
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, prioritize, work under pressure, meet deadlines and multi-task
Hands on manager willing to delve into the details, however, tie in to higher financial concepts
Good to have:
CPA a is a Plus
Competitive market salary range from $100,000 to 130,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
