Property Accountant
to join their Accounting Department. The
Property Accountant
will be responsible for the accurate and timely financial reporting of assigned properties, collaborating closely with Property Operations, external parties, and senior leadership. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the flexibility to support ad-hoc projects that benefit the company’s operations.
Base pay range
$70,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities Accounts Receivable
Receive and deposit tenant checks via remote deposit or in-person banking.
Post deposits to tenant accounts within the accounting system.
Review and update new leases and renewals in the accounting software.
Enter billing adjustments, tenant move-outs, and related transactions.
Review aging reports and rent rolls to ensure accuracy.
Accounts Payable
Review, code, and input invoices into the accounting software.
Prepare and process weekly checks, ensuring timely payments.
Calculate and process monthly management fees.
Review and file 1099 forms annually.
Financial Reporting & General Ledger
Prepare monthly financial reports for assigned properties.
Conduct monthly cash analysis for distributions as directed by the Controller.
Enter annual budgets into the accounting system.
Review and complete annual CTI reconciliations.
Additional Duties
Generate and review aging reports; collaborate with property managers on delinquencies.
Perform reconciliations and maintain organized records.
Assist with audits and prepare owner-requested reports.
Support filing, reporting, and other accounting tasks as needed.
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred, but not required.
Minimum of 2 years of retail property accounting experience required.
Prior commercial real estate and CAM (Common Area Maintenance) experience required.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Must successfully pass a background check, employment reference check, and credit check.
