We are looking for a Director of Finance to be a key partner in leading the insourcing and development of a best-in-class hospitality finance function. The Director of Finance will be instrumental in building the Drift financial reporting structures, financial planning and analysis capabilities in support of our company’s mission and growth. This role will have direct involvement with budgeting and financial reporting/analysis, helping leadership make data-driven decisions as we grow. We expect that this leader will build a team of appropriate size and ability to ensure successful execution of Drift’s financial objectives.
Responsibilities
Build and lead a best-in-class Finance Team Ensure all basic financial and transactional processes are executed and accounted for appropriately (A/P, A/R, cash management/reconciliation, payroll & benefits, fixed assets, lease accounting, etc.) Develop and implement appropriate internal controls to ensure the integrity of cash management and the broader financial aspects of the business Maintain the company’s general ledger and prepare and distribute financial reports in accordance with U.S. GAAP within 10 days of period end Develop financial systems and processes to make the company U.S. GAAP compliant and “audit ready” Lead periodic, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and analysis Develop a dynamic and robust bottom-up forecast model Manage budgeting and cash flow planning across the company and at individual restaurant locations Perform budget-to-actual analysis on a periodic, quarterly and annual basis Prepare timely and accurate unit-level P&Ls with insights for distribution to Operations each period Support operational leaders with performance metrics, cost controls, and P&L reviews Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability across the business Support the executive team with strategic projects, including new location openings and financing Manage outsourced tax accountants and prepare all information for timely and accurate filing of income tax returns About you
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA or MBA a plus) 5–7+ years of finance/accounting experience, ideally in hospitality, restaurants, retail, or multi-unit operations Experience with Restaurant365 a plus Strong skills in financial modeling, reporting, and analysis Hands-on operator with the ability to dig into details and think strategically Comfort with a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, growing environment Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with operations and leadership This job description is not all-inclusive, and certain activities, duties or responsibilities may be required as needed.
