Overview

We are looking for a skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our team in Morrisville, North Carolina. As part of the Security and Trust Organization, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring customer data protection, compliance, and overall security across a wide range of products and services. This is a long-term contract position where you will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge security solutions while collaborating with talented professionals. Responsibilities

Develop and implement backend software features with a focus on security and trust. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address security gaps across Cisco's portfolio. Write automated tests to ensure the reliability and performance of software solutions. Quickly adapt to new codebases and processes while learning new technologies. Provide mentorship and guidance to engineers to enhance their technical skills. Utilize strong communication skills to effectively share ideas and solutions with team members and external stakeholders. Apply object-oriented programming principles to create scalable and maintainable code. Troubleshoot network setups and resolve issues to ensure seamless functionality. Work in a Linux environment to develop and deploy software solutions. Explore and implement virtualization technologies such as virtual machines and Docker containers. Requirements

Backend Software Engineer Linux development experience Strong foundation in Java - Required Object Oriented Programming Concepts 3-5+ years of experience Preferred/Additional Qualifications

Experience in multiple programming languages (Python, Java, Go, etc.) Experience in backend dev, front end/UI and full stack is a plus Some networking knowledge Some security protocol knowledge Familiarity with DevOps concepts (CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Git) Familiarity with Docker/containerization/Kubernetes Experience with virtual machines Experience developing within Linux OS All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
