Overview
Join the CNC Programmer, Level 2 role at Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM). This onsite position reports to the Lead Process Engineer in the Metal Fabrication department at the Jacksonville, FL location. The role focuses on creating machine programs, identifying process improvements, and troubleshooting production, machinery, and software with a medium level of complexity. The programmer will specialize in one or more disciplines (Laser/Punch Combo machines, Press Brakes, Standalone Turret Punch, Flat Bed CNC Routers, Robotics & Automation) and must demonstrate proficiency in at least one additional discipline. The role emphasizes Lean principles and on-time, in-full delivery of machine programs to produce high-quality parts efficiently. Responsibilities
Generate machine programs for IEM’s wide array of manufactured components. Provide daily support to Metal Fabrication to improve daily output of the Programming team. Evaluate and recommend best-practice uses of IEM’s machinery and manufacturing procedures. Recommend tooling, fixtures, and jigs to improve manufacturing processes. Develop work instructions, SOPs, and training materials to support consistent operations across IEM’s Machine Programmers. Assess component manufacturability from Engineering documents and advise on optimal fabrication methods. Support automation initiatives and integration of Industry 4.0 technologies to drive smart manufacturing and operational efficiency. Participate in kaizen events, root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes. Competencies
Highly computer literate with a desire to leverage all software functionality. Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a dynamic environment. Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, analytic, and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail. Highly responsible, reliable, and self-driven to achieve excellence daily. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Education and Experience
3+ years in a CNC programming role. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering field, or 6+ years in equivalent roles. 3+ years of experience with sheet metal fabrication processes, equipment, and tooling (Press Brakes, Fiber Lasers, Punching, and Automation equipment preferred). Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, DraftSight, or other CAD/CAM software. Demonstrated career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with potential for broader leadership roles in a fast-paced, high-growth organization. Preferred
Experience with Amada equipment and software suite. Lean and/or Six Sigma certifications. Experience in training or personnel development roles & activities. Experience with IT & software implementation in an engineering environment.
