Job title : Research Scientist I Location : Johns Creek, GA (Onsite) Duration : 6 months Job Description

Perform daily functions in batch preparation of formulations and intermediate solutions, complete all documentation following the preparation of the batches throughout the process. Assist with additional projects assigned by cross-functional teams. Perform polymer formulation, characterization, and processing in a research laboratory environment. Demonstrate understanding of materials technology and lens production processes to ensure compatibility between materials and processes. Identify and optimize novel materials for use in lenses, saline, and lens care product formulations. Understand the structure-property relationships in polymers, focusing on molecular architecture, morphology, and bulk properties. Identify and execute appropriate testing methodologies to evaluate new contact lenses, lens surfaces, packaging saline, and lens care products. Document experimental results, including raw materials, experimental plans, procedures, results, data analyses, and conclusions, in appropriate formats (lab notebook, memo, report). Communicate findings effectively to project teams. Support patent filings and invention disclosures to protect intellectual property. Handle, store, use, and dispose of lab chemicals following MSDS, SOP, and regulatory guidelines. Comply with all health, safety, and environmental requirements. Use relevant statistical techniques for planning, executing, and analyzing experiments. Monitor patent and scientific literature for significant developments related to CL and CLC products. Bachelor's degree or higher in a scientific discipline (MS with 0-2 yrs; BS with 0-4 yrs); preferred fields include Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Fluency in English Experience in chemistry/material science industries such as adhesives, coatings, UV curatives, or regulated medical devices is desirable Formulation and process experience with hydrogels and contact lens care is a plus Ability to write reports and communicate effectively with internal teams Additional Information
