Location: Pickle Research Campus Hiring Department: Applied Research Laboratories Position Open To: All Applicants Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40 FLSA Status: Exempt Earliest Start Date: Immediately Position Duration: Expected to Continue Note: This posting is for a defense-related research role within the Signal and Information Sciences Laboratory (SISL) at ARL:UT, focusing on underwater acoustics, sonar performance modeling, and signal processing. Responsibilities

Conduct analysis, modeling, and data processing in disciplines such as underwater acoustics, sonar performance modeling, signal processing, and spectral analysis. Contribute to algorithm development and software improvements through fundamental and applied research, prototyping, validation, and integration; support performance evaluations and the transition of algorithms into production systems. Convey results of scientific research to sponsors and the scientific community through briefings, technical reports, discussions, and scholarly works; engage with collaborators and sponsors to develop productive relationships. Support team research efforts through collaboration on technical work, group discussions, planning, and sharing of expertise and feedback. Other related functions as assigned. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, math, or related technical area. Experience with MATLAB, Python, or similar languages. Demonstrated proficiency in signal processing and time series data manipulation. Demonstrated experience in scientific algorithm development, modeling/simulations, and/or data analysis. Dynamic skill set; willing to learn new technologies and stay current with relevant research and technology. Effective problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and sound scientific judgment; ability to design experiments and propose research questions. Ability to work independently and with sensitive information; capable of teamwork and managing multiple projects with changing priorities; able to work under pressure and maintain regular attendance. Preferred Qualifications

Two or more years of prior research experience, especially in DoD-related applications. Two or more years of applied programming with MATLAB or Python; experience in scientific algorithm development, modeling/simulation, and/or data analysis. Experience with acoustic simulations and/or propagation modeling; handling large time-series datasets (preferably acoustic data). Experience in Linux environments; eligibility for immediate access to classified information. GPA considerations: a cumulative GPA of 3.0 with a 3.5 in major coursework. Other Information
