Overview Position Type: Student Support Services/ Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Responsibilities

Provide supervision, modeling, and performance feedback to personnel implementing behavior-analytic interventions under BCBA direction, including:

Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs)

Paraeducators

Ensure supervised personnel implement ABA-based interventions with fidelity in accordance with student IEPs, BIPs, and ethical practice.

Deliver ongoing training and coaching in data collection, reinforcement procedures, prompting strategies, and other ABA methodologies.

Support professional development of staff pursuing BACB certification, when applicable and authorized by the district.

Participate as a member of Planning and Placement Teams (PPTs) to assess, develop, and review individualized education programs (IEPs) for students requiring behavior-analytic support.

Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), preference assessments, skill acquisition assessments (e.g., VB-MAPP, ABLLS, AFLS, PEAK), and other relevant evaluations.

Develop and implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) grounded in ABA principles.

Provide direct and consultative behavior-analytic services to students across all educational environments.

Support instructional teams with data collection, analysis, and progress monitoring aligned to student goals and interventions.

Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to promote consistency of behavioral programming.

Provide professional development, coaching, and capacity-building training to educators and staff in the implementation of behavior strategies, classroom management, and ABA principles.

Participate in school and district initiatives, including PBIS, SRBI, and MTSS.

Monitor implementation fidelity of behavior plans and provide ongoing feedback to staff.

Assist in the selection and implementation of appropriate instructional modifications and materials to address student behavioral needs.

Serve as a behavioral resource for students with and without IEPs who may require tiered behavioral supports.

Maintain timely and accurate documentation of assessments, services, student progress, and communication logs.

Comply with ethical and professional standards as defined by the BACB, including informed consent procedures and practicing within one’s scope of competence.

Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Executive Director of School and Family Support Services or designee.

Minimum Qualifications

Valid Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)

Valid Connecticut license as a Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) through the Department of Public Health

Master’s degree in behavior analysis, psychology, education, or related field

Demonstrated knowledge of ABA principles, data collection, and evidence-based behavior interventions

Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual (Spanish/English preferred)

Experience working in public school settings

Experience training and supervising RBTs, paraeducators, or BCaBA candidates
