Overview

The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center are seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The focus is on research in acute and chronic pain mechanisms and therapeutic management, with an emphasis on leading a cutting-edge research program that complements existing departmental activities. The successful candidate will engage with a collaborative research community and contribute to the academic life of the department and the institution through mentoring/teaching and service commensurate with the level of appointment. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Ohio State's Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) is nationally known for its comprehensive, multidisciplinary rehabilitation education and training. It has a long history of caring for traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and stroke. The PM&R Department is part of Ohio State’s Neurological Institute and supports a variety of clinical and research activities with a strong emphasis on rehabilitative care and neurorecovery for diverse neurological conditions. PM&R consists of 28 physicians, 6 research faculty, 11 rehabilitation psychology faculty, 21 residents, 5 fellows and 13 research support staff, and is involved in a broad range of clinical and academic activities. Duties and Responsibilities

Lead and maintain a cutting-edge, extramurally funded research program in acute and chronic pain mechanisms and therapeutic management. Collaborate with faculty across OSU, including but not limited to the College of Medicine, Engineering, Nursing, and Public Health. Mentor and instruct students and postdoctoral fellows. Contribute to university and community service. Engage in teaching responsibilities as needed by the department. Requirements

PhD, MD or equivalent higher degree. Demonstrated record of scholarly excellence with influential research publications. Record or promise of substantial extramural funding.
