Bachelor's degree 2+ years related experience Primary Focus

Ensure accurate packaging data collection and reporting for Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) compliance, while forecasting, tracking, and managing the financial impacts of EPR-related obligations. This role also supports coordination with third-party compliance partners for data scrubbing, state-level report preparation, and completion of Circular Action Alliance (CAA) submission requirements. Data Management & Quality Control Data Collection & Entry: Collect, validate and maintain packaging data from internal systems and suppliers. Validation and Error Checking: Perform quality control checks on data for completeness and accuracy. Maintain and update databases to ensure data integrity. Third-party Coordination: Provide timely and accurate data to outsourced service partner to support data scrubbing and state-specific report processes. Financial Tracking & Forecasting Cost Tracking: Monitor invoices for EPR fees and ensure alignment with forecasts. Budget Planning: Integrate EPR costs into annual plans and adjust forecasts based on packaging data and regulatory changes. Scenario Modeling: Evaluate financial impact of regulatory changes or packaging material shifts. Analysis & Reporting Trend Analysis: Analyze packaging material usage trends and cost drivers. EPR Reporting Preparation: Compile and summarize packaging for regulatory submissions and leadership updates. CAA Submission Support: Prepare and submit required documents in accordance with CAA requirements. Cross-Functional Collaboration Internal Collaboration: Partner with packaging, procurement, sustainability and operations teams to ensure accurate data, resolve reporting issues and provide guidance on emissions tracking and reporting. Finance & Procurement Engagement: Support cost-benefit analyses for sustainable packaging alternatives. Audit Support: Provide documentation for internal & external audits and apply financial methodologies to GHG inventory compilation and ensure consistency with finance org. External Coordination: Serve as liaison to third-party compliance partners to ensure alignment and timely delivery of data and reports. Support external reporting efforts (e.g., Corporate Responsibility Report, California climate disclosures). Process & System Improvement Process Optimization: Support and recommend improvements to streamline data collection, validation, and reporting. System Updates: Assist in implementing new reporting requirements based on evolving regulations. Secondary Focus

Ensure accurate data collection and reporting for Scope 1 and 2 emissions disclosure and regulatory compliance, and support other ESG reporting activities as necessary. Inventory Preparation & Validation Data collection: Collect and consolidate energy and emissions data from internal systems, stakeholders, and suppliers. Data validation: Perform quality control checks on data for completeness and accuracy. Inventory management: Track changes in operations that may impact emissions; ensure consistency and transparency in emissions factors and calculation methods. Trend analysis: Analyze emissions sources and changes to drivers over time. Tech-enabling: Maintain systems to automate data collection and reporting processes. Compliance & Improvement

Regulatory preparedness: Ensure inventory aligns with GHG Protocol and relevant regulatory standards. Continuous improvement: Identify and address data gaps and inconsistencies. Continuous education: Stay informed on emissions reporting requirements and best practices in the CPG industry. Other projects

Support ESG initiatives through data gathering, cleaning, and assurance. Conduct analysis and modeling to generate actionable business insights. Compensation & Benefits

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between $76,900-$110,500. Individual base pay depends on work location and factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
