Overview
We are seeking a motivated and technically strong Senior Tax Associate to join our R&D Tax Credit Services team, with opportunities to contribute to the wider Specialty Tax Services group. This role provides exposure to complex tax credit work, direct client interaction, and the chance to broaden technical expertise in tax consulting, compliance, and advisory projects. The Senior Associate will work closely with managers and partners on engagements involving R&D tax credits, multistate incentives, and general tax compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional with prior R&D consulting or public accounting experience who is eager to take on more responsibility in client management and staff supervision. Responsibilities
Assist with engagement planning, execution, direction, and completion of R&D tax projects within scope, budget, and deadlines. Deliver R&D Tax Credit services, including tax form preparation and review, technical research, and preparation of memorandums and client correspondence. Prepare and review R&D tax credit calculations and supporting documentation. Conduct client technical interviews and provide ongoing communication regarding project progress. Respond to inquiries from the IRS and state tax authorities regarding R&D tax credits. Support practice development initiatives and client management activities. Mentor and supervise junior staff, providing training, feedback, and technical guidance. Qualifications
24 years experience in public accounting or R&D tax credit consulting. Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting (or related field). CPA license (active) or on track to obtain CPA. Strong knowledge of federal and state R&D tax credits and general multistate incentives. Foundational understanding of US GAAP, tax compliance (entity and individual returns), and tax research. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare client-facing deliverables. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
