Compensation: $100,000–$125,000 DOE – Full Time Permanent position
Hours: Days, Monday–Friday core hours
Industry: Food Production Facility
A day in this role: You start your morning aligning with Production, reviewing overnight environmental data and quality holds. By mid-morning you’re walking the floor, checking GMPs and sanitary design, and coaching team members on allergen controls. After lunch, you lead a cross-functional root cause session on a customer complaint, finalize CAPAs from last week’s third-party audit, and prep the team for an upcoming SQF surveillance. Before the day ends, you update quality KPIs, plan next month’s HACCP refresher, and touch base with Sales, Culinary, and Product Development on new items entering validation.
What you’ll lead
Ownership of Quality Systems: HACCP, SQF, Preventive Controls (PCQI), internal audits, and continuous improvement of programs. Supplier oversight: monitor performance, conduct risk-based hazard analyses, and drive supplier-related corrective actions. Audit readiness: manage regulatory, customer, and third-party audits; ensure compliance and effective CAPA closure. Policy stewardship: maintain and elevate plant conformance to food safety policies, FSMA, GMP, FDA/USDA expectations, and customer standards. Training and coaching: deliver sessions on HACCP, GMPs, allergens, sanitation, SPC, and other quality fundamentals. Daily QA operations: guide product evaluations, shelf-life/stability studies, microbiological testing, and environmental monitoring. Complaint reduction: partner with Production to investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement lasting fixes. Data and reporting: maintain documentation, track quality scores, and communicate progress on improvements. Bachelor’s in Food Science, Biology, or related discipline (Master’s a plus). 5+ years in Food Manufacturing or Quality Assurance with proven leadership. HACCP, PCQI, and SQF certifications strongly. Working knowledge of FSMA, GMP, FDA, USDA, and related regulatory frameworks. Excellent communication, organization, and team leadership. Comfort with Microsoft Office and quality systems tools. Ability to work in a refrigerated environment and meet physical demands of the plant. How to apply
