Overview
Fire Pump Inspector role at Fireline (in partnership with Encore Fire Protection). This position is based in Baltimore, MD and involves servicing and inspecting fire pump systems as part of a growing fire protection team.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine service, inspections, and troubleshooting of fire pump systems
Conduct fire pump flow tests, churn tests, and weekly/monthly run checks
Inspect and service related components such as fire pump controllers, jockey pumps, valves, gauges, and pressure relief systems
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, or control system issues affecting pump operation
Identify deficiencies or non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions or system upgrades
Respond to emergency service calls for fire pump failures or performance issues
Maintain service vehicle, tools, and equipment in clean and operational condition
Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams regarding service findings and next steps
Stay current with applicable codes, standards (e.g., NFPA 20 & NFPA 25), and best practices in fire pump servicing
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
2+ years of hands-on experience servicing fire pumps or related fire protection equipment
Working knowledge of NFPA 25 and NFPA 20 standards
Ability to diagnose and repair both mechanical and electrical fire pump components
Proficient in using testing equipment, hand tools, and diagnostic devices
Comfortable working independently in the field and managing time efficiently
Excellent documentation and customer service skills
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
NICET Level I or II in Inspection & Testing of Water-Based Systems preferred but not required
