Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent; two years of related work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Three years of responsible experience in large-scale food service, including food preparation, handling, safety, and sanitation.
One year of supervisory experience, including planning and directing staff.
Proficiency with cashiering and Microsoft Office.
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication).
Must attend and pass the ASD Serving It Safe food safety class within 21 days of hire.
Experience providing staff training in kitchen responsibilities.
Experience with food service POS and inventory systems.
Previous experience as a food service manager.
Essential Job Functions:
Manage food and supply inventories, ordering, records, cash handling, deposits, and paperwork submission.
Understand USDA and State meal guidelines.
Monitor and record kitchen equipment temperatures and HACCP compliance.
Maintain sanitation and food safety standards.
Ensure proper serving techniques and portion control.
Organize meal preparation and assign work to kitchen staff.
Follow district policies and procedures.
Address and resolve complaints promptly.
Maintain NSLP compliance and accurate records.
Plan and make decisions independently in a fast-paced environment.
Train, supervise, and evaluate cafeteria staff.
Coordinate employee timecards and leave requests.
Manage student aides and substitutes.
Build positive relationships with students, staff, and the community.
Physical / Mental Demands:
Frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking, hearing; visual acuity; occasional lifting under 40 lbs.; ability to understand instructions, recall facts, handle conflict, and work under pressure.
Work Environment:
Professional setting; exposure to varying weather conditions; moderate noise level.
