Overview

We are currently looking for a Controller, MSR to join our team. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer with a dotted line to the Group President, Capital Markets, the Controller, MSR is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting functions related to the MSR (Mortgage Servicing Rights) portfolio. This position collaborates with third-party valuation firms to accurately assess the value of mortgage servicing rights and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards. This role manages a team of accounting professionals who are responsible for the cash flow and coordination of lender draws as it relates to MSR, providing strategic guidance on financial operations while ensuring covenant reporting and compliance. Additionally, this position is responsible for directing balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring intercompany accounts balance, managing bank account reconciliations, and implementing robust internal controls to prevent fraud. This role manages disbursements, payroll, shared services, debt reporting, lender covenant compliance, tax reporting, coordination of audits, and preparation of consolidation reports when necessary. As a key member of the Accounting Team, this position plays a crucial role in developing and improving processes, enhancing controls and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities

Oversee the accounting and financial reporting functions related to the MSR portfolio Collaborate with third-party valuation firms to assess MSR values and ensure accounting standards compliance Manage a team of accounting professionals responsible for MSR cash flow and lender draws coordination Provide strategic guidance on financial operations and covenant reporting Direct balance sheet reconciliations and ensure intercompany alignment Manage bank reconciliations and implement internal controls to prevent fraud Oversee disbursements, payroll, shared services, and debt reporting Ensure lender covenant compliance, tax reporting, and coordination of audits Prepare consolidation reports when necessary Develop and improve accounting processes, controls, and regulatory compliance Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA or equivalent professional certification required 10+ years’ experience in accounting or finance, with strong background in financial reporting 5+ years’ accounting experience within the mortgage banking industry In-depth experience with financial modeling and MSR valuations Experience implementing financial audits and controls, establishing new accounting processes, and optimizing workflows Prior experience with MSP (Mortgage Servicing Platform) is highly preferred Strong project management skills and the ability to manage new initiatives for the accounting team Strong verbal and written communication skills Interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships across the organization Effective management skills including talent selection, training, coaching, mentorship, and performance management Leadership ability to foster positive engagement and trust Ability to quickly establish credibility and align with the organization’s culture, values, and priorities Collaborative and consultative work style; ability to lead change and agile learning Client-focused with strong execution and results orientation Strong analytical skills, judgment, and problem-solving abilities Ability to analyze and interpret data to identify opportunities and propose solutions Ability to prioritize under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment Self-directed with proactive issue identification and resolution Professional maturity, integrity, and ability to maintain confidential information Strong business acumen with fiscal and technical aptitude Benefits

The hiring range for this position is between $144,200.00-$180,000.00 annually This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus Fay Cares!
