We develop robust analytical frameworks to inform decision-making under uncertainty, offering expertise in risk assessment, benefit-cost analysis, financial modeling, alternative delivery methods, public-private partnerships (P3s), and more. We are a boutique consulting firm specializing in high-impact decision support services for large-scale transportation projects and programs—from early evaluation and planning through design, procurement, and construction. Role We are hiring a Consultant in Infrastructure Economics, Risk and Cost Analysis that is experienced and efficient in building spreadsheet-based models and can assist with benefit cost studies, risk studies, and financial plans for major transportation projects. Example of responsibilities include: Support developing spreadsheet-based tools for project risk analysis, cost-benefit analysis, lifecycle cost analysis, financial analysis, and business case Communicate with client project managers, construction managers, costs and schedule leads, and project control managers to collect and compile project data Compile, review, and analyze project data and interface with client and project teams on results Prepare technical reports, documenting input data, methodology, and results in text format and with graphic illustrations Prepare PowerPoint presentations and present results to clients Attend and support risk workshops and client meetings Conduct research and literature reviews Other project management and coordination tasks Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with 4+year work experience in Transportation Planning, Economics, or Civil Engineering with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Expertise and efficiency in Excel is critical. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical. Adept at working independently and within a team environment including the ability to interact with clients and consultants from other companies Proactive, self-motivated, well-organized, and detail-oriented Able to handle confidential information Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and collaborate on various projects in a small business environment Legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction or need for sponsorship Preferred Qualifications Experience developing complex spreadsheet-based tools and models, including VBA and pivot tables Familiarity with conducting sensitivity analysis and Monte Carlo simulation concepts and software, such as Palisade @RISK Knowledge of project risk analysis and risk management techniques Knowledge of cost-benefit analysis concepts and techniques Knowledge of economic, statistical, and financial analysis Work experience on transportation projects in planning, design, and construction location Los Angeles, CA Ability to meet client in Southern California region as needed. Schedule Hiring for a full-time (40 hours a week) position Salary Expectations Employer-provided salary range is $90,000 - $130,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
