Tax Services Senior Manager - FSO - Fiduciary/Trust & Estate Accounting Services (FTEAS) – EY Location: Anywhere in Country. EY’s Financial Services Organization (FSO) provides fiduciary/court accounting services for trusts and estates; the Senior Manager plays a key leadership role in strategy, client service, staff development, and profitability. This role supports banks, law firms, family offices, and individual trustees across the United States. Responsibilities
Technical review of complex trust and estate accountings. Lead and supervise teams to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of work products. Manage client relationships and maintain client goodwill; participate in business development activities (sales calls, client presentations, marketing, BD meetings). Develop and maintain relationships with potential new clients; participate in industry conferences and events. Ensure client satisfaction with timely and effective responses; support long-term client relationships. Provide estimates for new accounting work; prepare documentation for new engagements; establish client/engagement codes; vet matters for independence and eDocs compliance. Collaborate with internal EY groups to cross-sell FTEAS and other EY lines of business. Facilitate communications, share knowledge, advise team members, and make decisions to meet engagement deliverables. Identify operational efficiencies to deliver timely, high-quality services and products. Contribute to a flexible, stable, team-oriented culture and staff development. Complete self-study courses to maintain fiduciary accounting knowledge and meet continuing education requirements. Monitor engagement profitability, staff efficiency, and workload to meet deliverables; oversee billing and follow-up on collections. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline. CPA, EA, licensed Attorney, Professional Fiduciary or CTFA certification. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent fiduciary accounting skills; experience reviewing complex accountings and IRS forms (706, 1041, K-1s). Understanding of complex investments, tax concepts, and trust structures; ability to interpret trust agreements and estate planning documents. Ability to research state principal and income acts and other relevant laws. Strong management, leadership, client interaction, and business development skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and fiduciary software; knowledge of EY systems. Thorough understanding of fiduciary tax law to prepare fiduciary/court accountings. Other Skills
10+ years of fiduciary/court accounting experience in banks, law firms or CPA firms with proven staff and engagement management. Experience with complex assets and large trusts/estates; family office experience a plus. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. What We Offer
