Overview
Role Overview We are seeking a seasoned tax professional to oversee partnership and corporate tax matters for complex investment structures. This individual will serve as a key liaison between external advisors, internal teams, and portfolio companies, ensuring all compliance requirements are met while driving efficiency in tax processes and reporting. The role combines technical expertise with strong project management and communication skills, and is well-suited to someone with a private equity or real estate investment background. Key Responsibilities
External Coordination
Manage relationships with external tax advisors, ensuring timely and accurate completion of filings, estimates, K-1s, withholding forms, and other deliverables. Partner with fund administrators to distribute tax reporting to investors, including estimates, final K-1s, and FATCA/CRS disclosures. Support deal teams and portfolio companies on transaction structuring, tax planning, and compliance matters. Review and oversee fund-level tax distributions, allocations, and withholding calculations. Respond to investor inquiries related to fund tax treatment, including UBTI, ECI, and other recurring diligence items.
Internal Collaboration
Provide tax estimates and reporting to investment professionals and GP stakeholders for ES payments and quarterly reporting. Work closely with management company teams to support general partner and minority stakeholder reporting requirements. Develop, update, and streamline tax diligence materials used in fundraising processes. Maintain accurate W-8/W-9 documentation, track notices, and coordinate resolution of federal and state correspondence. Assist with ASC 740 tax provision calculations and ensure consistency with US GAAP accounting policies. Drive process improvements through technology and system automation.
Qualifications
6–10 years of tax experience in private equity, real estate private equity, or related partnership structures. Background in public accounting or fund tax teams; preference for candidates with top-tier public firm training. CPA designation strongly preferred. Expertise in partnership taxation, fund structures, K-1 reporting, and management company tax matters. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliverables in a deadline-driven environment.
