Accounting Manager Salary:
$140,000 - $165,000 plus annual bonus
Location:
New York City (Hybrid - 4 days a week in office) About the role:
An established real estate investment firm is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Manager to join the corporate finance team in New York. This individual will play a key role in overseeing financial operations, corporate consolidations, supporting property-level finance teams, and ensuring accurate reporting across the organization. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in hospitality finance, corporate accounting, and financial compliance. Responsibilities
Lead monthly close activities in collaboration with the Senior Accountant. Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and consolidation adjustments. Maintain and reconcile corporate balance sheets and fixed asset records. Oversee financial accuracy of property-level reporting and reconciliations. Serve as the primary liaison between corporate finance and hotel Directors of Finance. Prepare consolidated and entity-specific financial statements for audits, tax filings, and internal reporting. Coordinate with external auditors and ensure timely delivery of audit materials. Monitor and forecast cash positions across the hotel portfolio. Manage corporate bank activity, including cash contributions and distributions. Analyze hotel cash reserves and recommend strategic transfers to optimize asset use. Oversee property tax and other corporate payment schedules. Administer lender reporting, payment processing, and covenant compliance. Maintain reporting calendars and ensure timely submission of financial data. Support internal reporting needs and assist with financial modeling and special projects. Qualifications
Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within hospitality or real estate. Prior experience overseeing financials for multiple hotel properties. Background in both Big 4/public accounting and corporate accounting Familiarity with debt compliance is a plus. Advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g., XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, VBA). Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail. CPA, MBA, or equivalent credentials preferred. Seniorities
