Investment Banking Associate - Consumer M&A
Our client, a prestigious global investment bank, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Investment Banking Associate to join its Consumer Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) group in New York City. This role offers exposure to high-profile consumer sector transactions and complex deal structures, with responsibilities spanning advisory services and transaction execution. Key Responsibilities
Transaction Execution: Lead and support all aspects of deal execution, including financial modeling, valuation analysis, due diligence, and preparation of client presentations and marketing materials. Client Interaction: Work closely with senior bankers and clients to manage relationships, coordinate strategic discussions, and deliver excellent client service. Market Analysis: Conduct industry research, competitive benchmarking, and analyze market trends to support strategic direction of M&A transactions. Team Collaboration: Manage and mentor junior analysts and associates, overseeing day-to-day work, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining high standards. Strategic Advisory: Contribute to development of tailored M&A strategies for consumer sector clients, including advising on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and capital raising. Qualifications
3-4+ years of experience in investment banking or related fields (M&A advisory, private equity, etc.) with a strong consumer sector focus. Strong proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques (DCF, precedent transactions, comparable company analysis). Solid understanding of M&A transaction processes and the ability to handle complex deal structures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management and clients. Highly motivated, results-driven with strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. MBA or other advanced degrees (a plus but not required).
