Assurance Experienced Senior, Accounting Advisory & Outsourcing The Accounting Advisory & Outsourcing (AAO) Experienced Senior Associate is responsible for performing and overseeing the full cycle general accounting function for small to mid-size organizations.

Responsibilities

Performs complete general ledger reconciliation including the entire balance sheet; records transactions in the general ledger; creates accounting records such as bill payments, client invoices, payroll, and others; identifies and records adjustments; produces accurate financial statements.

Comprehends common financial statements and prepares draft financial statements for review; understands how line items function; distinguishes debits from credits; calculates/interprets KPIs; identifies trends and communicates them to management; applies GAAP to basic financial statements.

Conducts basic financial statement analysis and understands typical finance and accounting functions (sales, purchasing, A/R) and best practices/processes.

Prepares financial budgets and forecasts and communicates actual vs. budget variances.

Plans basic engagements (on-boarding and client delivery) and understands engagement economics (billing/time entry); adheres to AAO best practices.

Interacts with clients to gather information, organizes financial data, prepares common reports, and formats reports for management and clients; reviews client information for accuracy; identifies anomalies and communicates issues to supervisor.

Supports drafting proposals and documents explaining proposed solutions; articulates AAO’s value proposition and target client profile.

Applies processes, systems, technology, and resources to manage workflow; ensures proper documentation and workpapers.

Reviews work products; collaborates with AAO and Business Service Center teams; prioritizes work to meet deadlines; raises priority conflicts to management when needed.

Takes accountability for work products and uses feedback to improve future actions.

Prepares schedules to support the client’s audit readiness and tax compliance requirements.

Participates in advanced special projects as required; understands and explains tax planning concepts for various business entities.

Identifies opportunities for process improvement and innovation; communicates client problems to management as potential growth opportunities.

Demonstrates proficiency with technology packages used by clients to support accounting/finance functions; quickly learns new technology.

Other duties as required.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance OR six (6)+ years performing general accounting transactions without a Bachelor’s degree, required.

Experience in consultative or business advisory roles preferred.

Pursuing or passed CPA certification preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) and experienced with standard accounting software.

Experience with BSO/BDODrive platform software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Microsoft NAV, Bill.com) preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication; strong analytical and research skills; solid organizational skills; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; ability to work independently or in a team; ability to travel up to 20%.
