Job Description The Assurance Experienced Manager, Accounting Advisory & Outsourcing manages the full life cycle of all assigned finance and accounting outsource engagements. Responsibilities include proposal development, staff assignment and oversight, final work product review, overall portfolio financial performance, client relationship management, timely billing, and resolution of client issues.

Responsibilities

Manages the full life cycle of all assigned engagements by providing technical expertise in all areas within the finance and accounting function.

Performs complete general ledger reconciliation, records transactions, creates accounting records, identifies adjustments, produces accurate financial statements, and provides financial analysis.

Understands technology packages, describes major functions, explains purpose, identifies inefficiencies, learns new technology, applies technologies to engagements.

Facilitates effective discovery meetings, uses open-ended questions to identify objectives and financial information for decision making.

Designs integrated solutions, outlines solutions concisely, vets internally with leaders and stakeholders.

Accurately determines cost of building a client solution, calculates benefit, compares margins, proposes fixed fee.

Works with Senior Managers to formulate recommendations to client leadership on technical accounting issues, financial accounting policies and procedures, financial management issues.

Reviews solutions periodically to determine if it still fits current state of the business and recommends appropriate changes.

Manages conflict, engages senior leadership when conflict arises.

Supports the client through business changes and helps develop and execute change management plan.

Gathers information necessary from the client, maintains a running list of information that is needed, follows up to gather missing information, organizes information.

Understands tax planning considerations for various business entities, analyzes tax return forms, converses with clients, appropriately refers tax related matters to Core Tax and Specialty Tax Services.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; equivalent experience required.

MBA or other relevant advanced degree (Masters in Accountancy) preferred.

Experience

Seven (7) or more years of experience performing general accounting transactions and functions required.

Three (3) or more years of supervisory experience, preferred.

Experience working with outsourced and/or delivery center operations, preferred.

Consultative or business advisory experience preferred.

License/Certification

CPA certification preferred.

Software

Experience utilizing industry standard accounting software and BDODrive platform software such as Intuit’s QuickBooks Online (QBO), Microsoft NAV and Bill.com, preferred.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, required.

Prior experience utilizing industry recognized accounting research tools, preferred.

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Understands the finance and accounting functions generally performed by a business and common best practices/processes for how they operate.

Presents well in one-on-one and small group settings; communicates in a clear and concise manner that emphasizes key points; persuades others to their points of view.

Strong analytical and basic research skills.

GAAP knowledge, financial statement presentation, and report writing.

Solid organizational skills with the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details.

Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously, while focusing on quality, customer satisfaction and service delivery.

Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Salary Range National Range: $120,000 - $145,000

Maryland Range: $120,000 - $145,000

NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $120,000 - $145,000
