Overview
Be among the first 25 applicants. Perform critical reviews of externally prepared commercial appraisals to ensure the value conclusions are credible and that the reports comply with all necessary requirements. Responsible for managing the review process, contracting with vendors, managing vendors to on-time delivery and quality, and maintaining the timely status of each assignment on a common job tracking system. Participate in the review of portfolios. May lead an ad hoc team for valuation due diligence or a special project; prepare market studies; provide market intelligence to lenders on a specific deal; prepare internal appraisals; perform sensitivity analyses for property cash flow projections; and evaluate the feasibility of a complex investment. Resolve any issues that are not compliant with Citibank policies or conclusions that are not reasonable. Advise risk managers in addressing complex real estate issues. Objectively provide risk managers with a balanced view of the risk associated with a given property. Opportunity to work with a wide variety of property types across the US ranging from small, single properties to large portfolios.

Prepare internal appraisals and perform sensitivity analyses for property cash flow projections; evaluate feasibility of complex investments.
Resolve non-compliance with Citibank policies and ensure reasonableness of conclusions; advise risk managers on complex real estate issues.
Provide risk managers with a balanced view of risk associated with properties; work with a variety of property types across the US from small properties to large portfolios.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10+ years of appraisal experience with at least 3 years in a lending institution.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees may be preferred.
Must have completed and passed all Appraisal Institute classes necessary for the MAI designation, or equivalent education, and be a state Certified General Appraiser.
Extensive commercial appraisal expertise across major property types (office, retail, industrial, multifamily) and special properties (self storage, hotels, assisted living, convenience stores/gas stations, etc.) including affordable multifamily housing.
Strong understanding of USPAP, FIRREA, and regulatory policies related to appraisals; knowledge of Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and SBA appraisal requirements is a plus.
Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills; strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
Ability to work autonomously for single properties up to $100MM+ in value; capable of effective decision making and multi-tasking under pressure.
Proficiency in MS Office, Argus, Rockport VAL DCF software, and MS Excel.
