Job Description
We are seeking a top-performing, technical sales professional who understands how to sell Motorola Solutions public safety software solutions to prospective customers while developing and maintaining excellent customer relationships.
Responsibilities
Sell Motorola’s computer aided dispatch, records management, jail management, evidence management, analytics, and situational awareness solutions to new customers. This is a hunter role focused on capturing new business in large-tier agencies. Engage with the largest cities and counties within the territory to influence projects well in advance of formal procurement. Develop customer relationships by phone, visits, tradeshow attendance, onsite discovery, software demonstrations, oral presentations, and attending regional user group meetings. Sales responsibilities are assigned by region or major geographical area; territories are sized by total customers operating as a “host” agency. Opportunities include on-site product presentations, internet demonstrations, and coordinating with state and local officials on single and multi-jurisdictional projects. Knowledge of local government procurement processes is helpful. Typical travel is moderate to high, with 50-65% in-territory activity. Top performers are compensated aggressively with accelerators upon achieving annual sales quota.
Specific Knowledge & Skills
Bachelors Degree with 4+ years of sales/public safety experience OR 8+ years of sales/public safety experience. Sales experience in a technical field, computer software industry, or government sales preferred. Experience selling to multiple levels, project stakeholders, and committees is a plus. Experience with large-ticket products and long sales cycles is beneficial. Ability to articulate and sell enterprise software solutions. Highly driven and self-motivated with proactive lead and opportunity qualification. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiating skills; consultative and relationship-based selling. Familiar with CRM upkeep, forecasting, and maintenance of sales pipeline activities. Creative and persuasive presentation and verbal communication skills. Familiar with Microsoft Office programs. Strong time management skills and ability to qualify opportunities throughout a dynamic sales process. Technical aptitude a plus; entrepreneurial experience and a builder attitude are a plus. "Pleasant Persistence" is a virtue in this position. This position supports the states of Missouri, Kansas, Iowa & Nebraska. Preference will be given to candidates in IA, MO, KS or NE, but candidates in surrounding states will be considered. Subject to working in high-security areas governed by CJIS policies; requires passing a fingerprint background check.
Compensation & Benefits
Target Base Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 USD. Pay within this range varies based on job-related knowledge, skills and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate in accordance with applicable law. #LI-MM1

Bachelors Degree with 4+ years of sales/public safety experience OR 8+ years of sales/public safety experience. Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer.
