Job Description
MKCI is a comprehensive civil defense litigation firm with a track record of successfully defending clients in high-stakes cases across various products liability/toxic tort and general liability matters, including claims related to asbestos and talc, premises liability, transportation, public entities, construction defects, labor law, insurance coverage, environmental issues, and sexual abuse (negligent hiring/supervision). We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our Hartford, CT office. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development within a supportive and collegial environment. Responsibilities
Attend/appear on behalf of clients during depositions and court appearances. Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery demands/responses. Assist in the preparation of cases for trial. Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in legal matters. Collaborate with colleagues on case strategy and management. Conduct legal research and analysis. Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut required. Admission in Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and/or Massachusetts a plus. 2 to 5 years of experience. Previous Civil Defense Litigation experience preferred. Superior analytical skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy. Strong work ethic and commitment to client service.
