About the Role and Team The Department of Health are seeking motivated and experienced Medical Practitioners to work as part of the Department of Emergency Medicine across Tasmania’s North West Region. Servicing a population of approximately 116,000, the Registrar – Emergency Medicine provides emergency medical care to patients attending the Department of Emergency Medicine at the North West Regional Hospital (NWRH).

The North West Regional Hospital (NWRH) is a modern facility that provides acute care facilities for residents of the North West region of Tasmania. It is a University Teaching Hospital for the Rural Clinical School of the University of Tasmania.

Details of Appointment Fixed term full time, shift-worker position working 76 hours per fortnight with 10 hours paid education time that includes a structured education day rostered every 4 weeks and self-directed learning in the second fortnight of the month.

Commencing as soon as possible until 31 January 2027.

Salary Medical Practitioner Level 5 - 11 $134,930 - $189,500 per annum + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging

Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022

Eligibility Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia

Pre-employment checks will include: conviction checks in the areas of violence, sex related offences, serious drug offences, crimes involving dishonesty; identification check; and disciplinary action in previous employment check.
