The work you'll do
is focused on facility security and residential care for individuals within the Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) and Forensic Mental Health Program (FMHP) at the St. Peter campus.
Programs
Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP)
– for individuals civilly committed after prison sentences and placed in sex offender treatment for an indeterminate period.
Forensic Mental Health Program (FMHP)
– provides psychiatric evaluation and treatment for individuals with mental illness who pose a public safety risk.
Responsibilities
Providing informal counseling
Implementing treatment plans
Observing and documenting client behavior
Encouraging client participation in program activities
Providing security and verbal and/or physical crisis intervention
This announcement will be used to fill multiple permanent, full-time, part-time, and intermittent vacancies in MSOP and FMHP in St. Peter. Shifts may include day, evening, rotating day/evening, or overnight. Employment conditions and shifts are subject to availability.
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify, applicants must:
Have a HS diploma or GED
Be at least 18 years of age
AND
At least ONE of the following to qualify for further consideration:
One or more years of full-time work experience in ANY field; OR
Two or more years of part-time work experience in ANY field
Preferred Qualifications
Employees are encouraged to be culturally responsive. Preferred candidates will have experience working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Additional Requirements
Resume should clearly describe relevant experience and include beginning and ending month/year for each job
Reference checks and criminal background checks will be conducted prior to appointment
Education verification: provide high school diploma or college transcripts/degrees at interview as applicable
TB testing: DCT facilities require documentation of TB status prior to employment
