Overview
The Hampden District Attorney’s Office seeks applicants for the position of Assistant District Attorney in the Appeals Unit. Please provide a resume and cover letter when applying. Responsibilities
Research, draft, file, and argue complex and high-profile appellate cases in the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court (SJC) and Appeals Court. Research, draft, file, and argue post-conviction matters in the superior, district, and juvenile courts. Provide legal advice to other assistant district attorneys in the office. Second-chair homicide cases. Qualifications
Required: law school graduate from an accredited law school (Juris Doctorate Degree); strong communication, research, writing, and computer skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook). Familiar with and follow Hampden District Attorney's Office Personnel Policies; Assistant district attorneys must be familiar with and adhere to the Massachusetts Rules of Professional Conduct. Participate in trainings relevant to Office functions. Interact in a respectful and professional manner with the public, judicial and law enforcement personnel, and office staff. Complete work assignments in a timely, accurate and efficient manner. Superior research and writing skills; prior clerkship or law review experience is desirable. Mission

Payroll is bi-weekly and based on a 37.5 hour work week (typically 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
