Job Summary
Plan, organize, direct and operate the Facility Operations department consistent with statutory requirements and professional practice. Assure compliance with federal, state and local codes and ordinances as well as JCAHO and other accreditation agencies and all other authorities having jurisdiction. Directs the leadership staff to achieve individual and department goals related to operations including staffing, supplies, quality and service. Develops and reviews policies, budgets and regulations to best meet the needs of patients, families staff and other customers related to the changing plant and grounds environment. Other duties as assigned. Experience Description
A minimum of 5 years experience in facility operations, with at least 2 years of those years in the health care setting, and at least 2 years of leadership experience is required. Education Description
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields from an accredited college is required. Education may be substituted by 10 years or more of direct experience within facility services. Master's degree is preferred. Background in Energy Management is preferred. Special Skills Description
Broad understanding of the methods, materials and equipment used by all trades in the construction, maintenance and remodeling of facilities. Knowledge of applicable codes, guidelines and standards in the health care field. Background in the Life Safety Code and JCAHO Environment of Care guidelines sufficient to provide for a safe and secure environment throughout the institution. Ability to plan, set priorities and organize work to obtain maximum output from resources. Directorial and professional ability to carry out job duties and functional responsibilities. Managerial and professional ability to carry out job duties and functional responsibilities. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical and other structural systems. Licensure Description
American Hospital Association - Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) preferred. American Hospital Association - Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) preferred. Member of at least one of the following professional organizations: WHEA, ASHRAE, or ASHE. Perks & Benefits
