The program aims to offer internships that can lead to a full-time opportunity at NG upon completion. What You’ll Do
We are looking for a Software Engineer with Python as the primary language, experienced in object-oriented programming, to work on an agile development team. Projects use a micro-service, event-driven architecture with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and AWS. Some programs include front-end, back-end, and full-stack development; others involve maintenance and sustainment engineering in languages such as C++/C, Java, or JavaScript. The environment supports career growth and internal mobility across programs. About Our Organization
Joining the Aurora Software and Digital Engineering department, you’ll work with 200+ software, DevOps, and systems staff from entry-level to chief engineers. Principal Software Engineers may take on technical leadership roles. The department collaborates with Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test, and participates in inclusion activities and campus events. Basic Qualifications
Software Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in Science with 2+ years of software development experience; 0+ years with a Master’s; or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree. Principal Software Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in Science with 5+ years of software development experience; 3+ years with a Master’s; 0 years with a PhD; or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree. MUST be separating or retiring from the U.S. military within one year. Experience as a front-end, back-end, or full-stack developer. Experience with Agile methodologies, processes, and tools. Experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting in Java or Python. Current Top Secret/SCI security clearance required to apply. Candidate must be able to obtain a CI-Poly. Offers are contingent upon receiving Top Secret/SCI clearance. Preferred Qualifications
It is preferred that candidates have some of the following qualifications. No expectation of all. Experience in Rust, C++, or JavaScript. Experience with virtualized environments (VMs, AWS). Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and shell scripting. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerization. Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket). Experience with AWS services. Experience with software system integration, testing, deployment, and automation. Experience with DevOps and/or Site Reliability Engineering. Salary and Benefits
Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00; Salary Range 2: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00. Offers depend on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long-term incentives may apply. Benefits include health, life and disability insurance, savings plan, holidays, and PTO.
