and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients’ objectives and solves their challenges. This opportunity supports engineering design and project execution for electrical systems within federal facilities. Responsibilities
Performance of electrical engineering design and production support from project inception through construction. Apply analytical and design skills to solve complex technical problems in the professional discipline. Utilize design software tools (e.g., REVIT, AutoCAD, Trace 3D Plus) to address technical/electrical engineering issues. Conduct engineering studies,requirements development, programming, site investigations, facility criteria development, budget and programming support, analyses, and program execution. Collect, compile, and analyze data from sites, surveys, blueprints, schematics, drawings, and reports for project development, design, and construction. Perform professional electrical engineering work, research, and inspections of site conditions, equipment, resources, buildings, usage, and electrical systems to ensure conformance with applicable rules and permits. Develop construction and installation plans, specifications, safety and phasing plans, and updated building layouts requiring coordination with owners, disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients. Incorporate design requirements, load calculations, and operating strategies for proper installation and functioning of equipment per specifications (SpecsIntact, UFC). Collaborate within cross-functional teams to execute project work on multiple concurrent projects, including layout, cost and quantity estimation, and ensuring conformance with permits, schematics, and regulatory analysis memos. Prepare data visualizations, tables, charts, calculations, technical drawings, and reports for interpretation and presentation of findings. Maintain quality control standards for accurate measurements, statistical analysis, and reporting. Assist with development and scoping of medium-sized projects and provide guidance to entry-level engineers. Prepare technical reports and presentations to explain research, findings, and recommendations to address design and/or construction issues or opportunities. Comply with regulatory requirements related to data integrity, documentation, procedures, training, monitoring, and record retention. Interact professionally with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients. Remain current in latest electrical engineering techniques and practices. Work collaboratively with other engineers and planners on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded projects. Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies; exercise ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline from an accredited university. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; hands-on experience with electrical design software. 7+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering design. Ability to obtain a US Government-issued Secret clearance; US citizenship is required due to client requirements. Proficient knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and design/build processes. Experience with building and infrastructure planning, design, and construction management, including rehabilitation and new design projects. Working knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements. Ability to perform technical computations, interpret plans/specifications, and compare to regulations. Project management experience with small to mid-level projects, including tracking hours and expenses. Ability to plan inspections and investigations of facilities, applying applicable regulations and policies. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences. Self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization in a dynamic environment. Ability to work independently and guide junior team members with QA/QC adherence. Technical writing proficiency and familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and related tools. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills for data analysis and load calculations. Ability to direct others in the field to complete tasks safely and efficiently. Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to policies. Willingness to work schedules that may extend beyond the typical workweek; occasional travel may be required. Preferred Qualifications
12 years of experience in electrical systems. Current Professional Engineer (PE) registration in electrical discipline. Familiarity with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) system. Active US Government-issued Secret clearance is a plus. Project management experience with small to mid-level projects (hours/expenses tracking). Benefits and Compensation
