Associate Director, Patient Access Strategy - Biosimilars Location: Parsippany, NJ (Hybrid)

Overview The Associate Director of Patient Access Strategy is a key member of the Biosimilar Value and Access Strategy team, reporting to the Senior Director, Value and Access Strategy. The Associate Director is responsible for leading, developing, and implementing strategies aligned with brand objectives to maximize patient access to therapy while minimizing GTN impact. The role directs vendor partners and leads cross-functional collaboration to meet strategic objectives of patient access programs. It covers all aspects of biosimilar affordability and access programs, including vendor management, program design, compliance, financial management, communication, data analytics, monitoring program effectiveness, reporting outcomes, lifecycle management, and innovation in patient access programming.

Location: hybrid, Teva’s Parsippany headquarters.

Responsibilities

Program leadership: Provide leadership with Biosimilar Marketing, Value & Access, and Vendors to design, develop, and implement affordability and access programs that align with business objectives.

Value & Access strategy: Support the development and execution of strategies to maximize patient access to Teva’s biosimilar products and gain a competitive advantage where possible.

Strategic pricing and contracting: Work with Value & Access, Finance, and Forecasting teams to ensure pricing and contract strategies account for patient access and affordability program costs.

Cross-functional collaboration: Lead collaboration of internal teams (legal, compliance, account managers, finance) and external partners (affordability and patient support program vendors) to ensure smooth program operations and optimal patient experience.

Financial Updates: Prepare financial analysis related to affordability and access program activity and spend for AOP, quarterly RF, and LRP forecasts.

Budget management: Forecast and manage budgets for affordability programs and other patient access services.

Data analysis: Develop standard program reporting, including KPIs and SLAs. Incorporate co-pay program redemption trends into forecasts and evaluations.

Business insights: Use program data and research to understand the competitive landscape, inform strategies, optimize financials, maximize pull-through, and enhance program effectiveness.

Program effectiveness: Evaluate and monitor patient access programs to ensure optimal performance and improvements.

Program design: Lead and provide expertise on business rule development or program changes with external vendors, Value & Access, Brand Team, and Legal.

Communication: Develop communication plans for vendor-customer interactions and internal Teva communications, training, and field team pull-through.

Launch leadership: Participate in launch leadership teams for the cost-effective development of affordability and access programs.

Operations: Manage vendor RFPs, vendor relationships, and program administration (budget tracking, invoicing, payments).

Risk Management: Anticipate and evaluate trends affecting financial risks related to affordability programs, including PBM accumulators and maximizers.

Innovation: Stay current on best practices and innovations in patient access and affordability program design.

Your Experience And Qualifications Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.

Education/Certification/Experience

Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in business, finance, or pharmacy preferred.

Minimum of 7 years in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or medical industry, with strong preference for pharmaceutical industry experience.

At least 3 years developing and managing patient affordability programs, or combined 7 years of relevant pharmaceutical industry, pharmacy practice, and affordability vendor experience.

Extensive knowledge of affordability program design, economics, rules, and execution for medical and pharmacy benefits, and buy & bill products.

Experience designing programs in multiple therapeutic areas is preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Strong understanding of federal and state healthcare laws and policies regarding manufacturer affordability and access programs.

Knowledge of healthcare insurance, benefit designs, payer policies & formularies, and utilization management.

Experience with affordability program operations, vendor management, budgeting, data analysis, and program evaluation.

Experience with Patient Services programs (HUB) and the ecosystem of patient access and pull-through of payer coverage.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; ability to lead in a cross-functional, matrixed organization.

Ability to adapt, lead, and execute with urgency in a fast-paced environment.

Strong financial analysis and strategic thinking; proficient in Excel and data platforms.

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills; project management experience; proven leadership and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Travel Requirements

Approximately 15% domestic travel within the US, including overnight travel.

Physical and Working Environment

Physical: Sitting or standing for extended periods; computer work and data analysis.

Environment: Mostly office-based; business attire for meetings and conferences.

Compensation The annual starting salary for this position is between $150,000 – $197,000. This range may vary by geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
