Associate Director, Managed Care Payer Contracting

Location: Hybrid opportunity in Parsippany, NJ or West Chester, PA. Overview

Join our rapidly expanding Strategic Contracting Unit within Value & Access and be at the forefront of a dynamic market. You'll directly influence patient access to both groundbreaking innovative therapies and cost-effective biosimilars, crafting cutting-edge contracting strategies that navigate a complex landscape. This role supports Teva’s Innovative and Biosimilar product portfolio by managing the development, drafting, negotiation, and ongoing administration of payer contracts with payers, PBMs, and other market access stakeholders. The contract strategy should align with organizational goals and compliance standards to facilitate appropriate patient access through well-structured, risk-appropriate contractual arrangements. Location: Hybrid opportunity (Parsippany, NJ or West Chester, PA). How You’ll Spend Your Day

Contract Strategy and Development: Collaborate with Account Management, Payer Contracting Analytics, Payer Marketing, Legal, Finance, Compliance, and Commercial teams to develop payer contracting strategies aligned with Teva’s business objectives. Authoring and Drafting: Author and manage the lifecycle of National pharmacy and medical benefit payer contracts (Commercial, Medicare, and Managed Medicaid). Create and maintain contract templates, playbooks and clause libraries; assess contract language risks and opportunities with mitigation strategies; draft language reflecting negotiated terms with regulatory compliance. Review and Negotiation Support: Work with Legal and Compliance to review terms and address legal risk; support and/or lead negotiations with payers and GPOs/PBMs; coordinate redlines and counterproposals during negotiations. Process Improvement and Governance: Manage RFP and bid processes for assigned accounts; lead contract approval process; optimize and standardize workflows, tools, and documentation; ensure contracts are executed and stored per governance and audit requirements; maintain knowledge of applicable laws and best practices. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as liaison between internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment and successful contract implementation; partner with Finance and Compliance to capture contract changes impacting financials for accrual and planning; support audits, payment reconciliation and disputes as needed; lead training on contract language from Teva’s perspective. Experience and Qualifications

Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements will be considered. Education/Certification/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Healthcare Administration, or related field (MBA/JD or advanced degree preferred). Minimum 7 years of experience in payer contracting, healthcare law, or managed care agreements (pharma/biotech or health insurance industry preferred). Contracting experience with National GPO and PBM customers. Proven ability to draft and interpret complex contract language; deep understanding of commercial and government payer environments and regulations. Proficiency in contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools and Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of anti-kickback statute, Medicaid Best Price, and value-based contracting guidance. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Understanding of drug pricing, rebates, fee structures, formulary design, and access strategies. Understanding of healthcare reimbursement models, benefit designs (pharmacy and medical), regulatory environments, and payer dynamics. Strong negotiation, presentation, communication, interpersonal and time management skills; innovative and value-based contracting experience; ability to work in a matrixed environment. Travel Requirements

Approximately 5–10% domestic travel within the US. Physical Requirements

Sitting for extended periods at workstation or with electronic devices. Work Environment

May require PPE on site visits as needed (safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.). Compensation

The annual starting salary ranges from $150,000 to $197,000, depending on geography, skills, education, experience and other qualifications. Benefits
