Vice President of Sales and Business Development

to build and lead a high-performance sales organization and establish a Sales Center of Excellence (CoE) that supports customer relationships, employee growth and development, and sustainable growth as the business scales. The Vice President of Sales and Business Development will design and execute the company-wide sales strategy, integrate best practices from the legacy organizations, and establish a cohesive, scalable sales model. This executive will oversee all sales functions, build and mentor a team of sales professionals, create revenue targets and measurable KPIs/OKRs, and design compensation and incentive programs that drive results and align with company goals. This role is a critical member of the executive leadership team, accountable for shaping a high-performance, values-driven sales culture that fuels market leadership across all customer segments. Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and growth-driven

Vice President of Sales and Business Development

to lead our national sales organization. This executive will be responsible for designing and operationalizing a Sales Center of Excellence (CoE) that aligns with our commitment to strengthening customer relationships, employee growth & development, and sustainable growth as the business continues to scale. The VP will craft and execute the company-wide sales strategy, integrate best practices from the legacy organizations, and establish a cohesive, scalable sales model. This leader will oversee all sales functions, build and mentor a team of sales professionals, create revenue targets and measurable KPIs/OKRs, and design compensation and incentive programs that drive results and align with company goals. Key Responsibilities

Center of Excellence Leadership

Build and lead a Sales Center of Excellence that establishes consistent best practices, sales methodologies, onboarding, and performance management across all regions and business units. Create scalable systems for sales enablement, training, coaching, and career development that prioritize employee engagement and retention. Implement tools, analytics, and processes to support data-driven decision making and pipeline health monitoring.

Strategic Sales Leadership

Evaluate existing sales processes, tools, and team structures from both legacy organizations to design and implement a unified, best-in-class sales framework. Develop and execute the company’s go-to-market strategy, including segmentation, territory design, and coverage models across inside sales, key accounts, and outside sales. Set clear performance metrics and manage the sales leadership team (Directors & Managers) to achieve and exceed sales targets, revenue goals, and market share growth. Ensure sales leaders understand pace, forecasting and pipeline management so they can build a bench around them. Partner with Marketing, Operations, and New Product/Inventory teams to ensure alignment on customer experience and brand promise delivery. Drive top-line revenue growth and margin expansion through strategic planning, market penetration, and channel development, establishing clear metrics for the team to work towards.

Team Leadership & Development

Recruit, inspire and develop a high-performing, mission-aligned sales team of 150+ across multiple markets and disciplines. Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and professional development. Serve as a coach, mentor, and culture builder for emerging sales leaders and future executives. Implement training programs, coaching initiatives, and performance management systems to elevate sales capabilities and productivity.

Business Development, Growth & CX

Identify and drive new business opportunities in underpenetrated verticals, dormant accounts, and emerging markets. Cultivate relationships with national and regional event planners, venue partners, production companies, sports & entertainment, food services and corporate procurement leaders. Ensure customer satisfaction improves YoY with CX programs. Lead M&A diligence and integration strategy as needed to accelerate growth.

Compensation & Incentive Planning

Design and implement competitive, motivating compensation plans and incentive structures that align with company goals and drive high performance. Regularly review and refine plans based on market conditions, team performance, and company growth objectives. Create spiffs with sales leaders to target key initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate closely with Operations, Inventory, Marketing, and Finance to ensure sales strategies are well-supported and aligned with overall company priorities. Provide sales forecasting, pipeline reporting, and market insights to inform executive decision-making.

Qualifications

15+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, including multi-regional or national scope, with at least 5 years at the VP level. Leadership experience in companies producing over 1,000 events annually and/or $100M revenue targets in event rental, food services, luxury multi-unit hotel/venue, stadium or event production/logistics sectors. Proven track record of building or scaling a Center of Excellence or equivalent centralized sales operations and enablement function. Experience navigating mergers, integrations, or organizational transformation is highly desirable. Strong analytical and operational acumen; skilled at implementing KPIs, CRM systems (Salesforce or equivalent), forecasting tools, and compensation models. Passion for people leadership, organizational health, and customer success. Exceptional communication, influence, and executive presence. Strategic thinker with a hands-on, results-oriented approach.
