Overview

The Electrical Superintendent provides input and technical expertise for power-generating construction projects. Supports engineering review, procurement (if necessary), construction, and start-up of high or medium voltage electrical systems and associated substations (if necessary). Provides technical owner correspondence support. On-site supervision of Field Engineers and General Foremen to ensure a safe, productive, and quality job and costs controlled in the construction discipline for the project site. Schedules labor, materials, tools, equipment, and subcontractors within the work discipline to effectively utilize all resources and works with specifications and contract requirements. Key Responsibilities

Supervises and sets the direction for all General Foremen, Field Engineers, and Foremen on-site to ensure the best use of company resources; provides formal coaching feedback to general foremen, field engineers, and foremen as well as regular informal feedback. Schedules equipment, materials, tools, and subcontractors to effectively utilize all resources, maximize production, and minimize costs; collaborates with other projects to share resources. Trains and implements standardized Work Plans and supports Field Operations Manager in process improvement efforts. Acts as an electrical consultant to supervisory and field personnel in electrical circuits, power quality, switchgear installations, transmission lines, interconnect systems, and high voltage collection/distribution systems. Participates in meetings with Electrical Engineers, Electrical subcontractors, Owner SMEs, and Utility interconnect personnel. Supervises all project electrical subcontractors to ensure effective use of resources and alignment with industry processes. Ensures safe working conditions and safety procedures on the project; enforces company, site-specific, federal, and state safety regulations; discusses concerns with Site Manager. Maintains best safety practices including training, crane and lifting operations, DOT requirements, site conditions, telehandlers, JHAs, accident/injury management, electrical safety hazards, LOTO, and arc flash (as applicable). Communicates with Site Manager to update project status and problem areas. Collaborates with Site Manager, other Trade Superintendents, General Superintendents, and other supervision to plan and staff trade employees through proper utilization of resources, processes, and policies. Assists Site Manager in communicating and negotiating major project decisions with the owner. Displays a professional demeanor and fosters a collaborative environment with craft workers, subcontractors, vendors, and the Owner to continually improve delivery performance. Compares actual costs to the job estimate for the specific discipline and informs the Site Manager of cost overruns and resource utilization. Verifies that project construction activities and engineering conform to the Project Quality Plan; ensures Work Superintendents establish, align, and communicate project specifications and craftsmanship expectations to all craft workers, vendors, subcontractors, and other agents. Helps assemble close-out information for meetings. Mentors Field Coordinators/Field Engineers and General Foremen on work discipline, production costs, scope of work, quality, and safety. Understands scope of work and identifies potential change orders; informs Site Manager. Familiarizes themselves with site conditions. May act as project leader in the absence of the Site Manager and performs additional assignments per supervisor’s direction. Participates in RFI development and ensures technical accuracy. Supports economic conditions by hiring locally, attending job fairs, and attending public information meetings. Establishes and maintains crew and equipment matrices, compares information to established Work Plans, and updates Operations Analysis as needed. May visit proposed project sites to support Estimating and Business Development. Becomes a project liaison with key community leaders and local landowners. Basic Qualifications

Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR). Ability to supervise many employees. Thorough knowledge of tools and equipment uses and limitations. Good communication skills to deal with owners and employees. Possess a solid understanding of job costing. Relocation to the community of the project site is required. May be required to become a qualified individual for company contract licensing, or journeyman or master electrician license. Ability to read and understand prints and contract documents. Knows and understands the required federal and state codes for the project. Benefits
