Applies engineering principles to design and manage projects during field installations in a distribution system for a safe, efficient, and practical manner. Responsibilities

Analyzes and performs engineering design, calculations, estimates, studies and coordination of gas distribution facilities installations. Reviews public entities civil construction plans and coordinates gas main relocation with local government reconstruction projects and their engineering teams. Produce design plans for natural gas facilities to effectively communicates design details to field personnel and contractors. Utilizes external contacts to assure materials, supplies, permits and information are available and exchanged to agencies and local utilities (line locations). Prepares economic justification (concise, factual and conclusive statements of the purpose, merits and necessity) for each project proposed to assist management with the evaluation of capital investment. This includes budget items and completion reports for specific construction projects. Assists in evaluation of system operations and troubleshoots problems. Reviews completed work orders and cost data to assure conformance with plans and acceptability of construction charges. Updates estimated unit prices as needed. Conducts distribution system pressure studies. Qualifications

Education:

Civil Engineering degree is preferred. Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Mechanical, Industrial or other approved engineering discipline from an accredited college or university. Experience:

$63,461.60 to $95,192.40 Annually CenterPoint Energy is required by Minnesota law to provide a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum starting compensation range at the time of posting for the opportunity.
