Position Overview HDR is seeking to hire a

Control Systems Designer/EIT . The primary function of this role is to support our global Control Systems practice, which includes assessment, planning, design, automation programming/configuration, testing & commissioning, and maintenance for control systems across multiple industries.

Responsibilities

Assist with the selection and specification of process instrumentation, control panels, and network equipment.

Develop biddable and technically accurate control system construction documents, including P&IDs, network diagrams, control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, installation details, loop drawings, and specifications.

Utilize CADD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Visio to develop designs.

Growth Opportunities

Gain exposure to multiple market sectors and core services of our global control systems program.

Travel to client facilities for field assessments and documentation.

Review shop drawings and participate in field observations and system testing during construction.

Advance to Control Systems Engineer with additional responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience.

EIT certification preferred; candidates without it will be titled "Control Systems Designer" and are expected to obtain EIT for career progression.

Knowledge of control systems, networking, and instrumentation.

Experience with designing control systems, developing P&IDs, schematics, and control drawings is a plus.

Experience with networking, communications, AutoCAD, and Revit is advantageous.

Local candidates are preferred.

Additional Skills and Knowledge Familiarity with Building Automation, Energy Management, DDC, BACnet, Modbus, network architecture, and related control systems components.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in teams.

Knowledge of Allen-Bradley, Modicon, Wonderware, and Interlution systems.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Willingness to travel if needed.
