Overview

Clinical Educator-NICU role at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Role involves assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating education for clinical employees to promote clinical and professional development and improve quality of care for patients and families. Develops and implements education plans for the assigned unit to proactively support safe patient care. Role is primarily days but nights may be needed at times due to department needs. Location: Primary Location Address 2220 North Druid Hills Road. Job Family: Nursing-Bedside. Responsibilities

Facilitate onboarding of new employees and orient, socialize, and integrate them to the organization with a focus on retention and growth. Develop and implement individualized orientation plans aligned with system orientation programs (e.g., Patient Care Provider Orientation, Nurse Residency Program, PEDS Program). Coordinate logistics of orientation and keep stakeholders informed. Develop, coordinate, manage, evaluate, and document outcomes to support competency assessment, learning, and change; promote compliance with regulatory standards and maintain educational records. Align educational programs with organizational plans, conduct learning needs assessments and gap analyses, plan continuing nursing education (CNE) or inter-professional continuing education, and design/deliver learning activities using adult learning concepts and instructional design principles for diverse target audiences. Evaluate learning outcomes, revise educational activities, monitor resource allocation, and document activities using the organization’s Learning Management System (LMS) with LEAN methodology. Advance professional development through mentorship, facilitation of lifelong learning, leadership skill growth, and participation in organizational committees or shared governance where applicable. Qualifications

3 years of pediatric RN experience; NICU experience preferred. Preferred: Specialty certification or equivalent experience; Nursing Professional Development (NPD) certification. Master’s degree preferred. Previous Level 4 NICU experience highly preferred. Experience in patient/family, clinical or community education. Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Certification Summary

Current Georgia license as a Registered Nurse. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) within 1 year of employment per department specifications. Professional Nursing Certification deemed by department required upon one year of hire. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Strong presentation skills to establish credibility and effectiveness. Basic knowledge of adult learning principles for designing educational activities and quality training materials. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Learning Management System (LMS).
