This is a remote-first position with occasional local travel to a Plano, TX data center.
Overview We’re seeking an experienced System Engineer to support enterprise IT infrastructure across both on-prem and cloud environments. This role is broad in scope—covering administration, automation, monitoring, patching, and identity management—while also providing escalated end-user support and contributing to strategic projects.
Responsibilities
Manage system administration tasks: server management, patching, and monitoring
Support and maintain VMware vSphere, Windows Server, and TrueNAS Core
Administer Active Directory and Okta, including IAM best practices
Troubleshoot Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint) integrations with AD/Okta
Automate tasks through PowerShell scripting
Manage AWS cloud environments and connectivity to on-prem infrastructure
Oversee backup systems, documentation, and compliance
Contribute to projects such as Windows 11 deployment, M365 optimization, and server refresh initiatives
What We’re Looking For
7+ years of enterprise IT infrastructure experience
Strong background with VMware vSphere, Windows Server (2012–2022), and Active Directory
Proficiency with Okta, Microsoft 365, and PowerShell scripting
Working knowledge of TrueNAS Core or similar storage platforms
Hands-on AWS experience in production settings
Familiarity with patching and backup tools (AutoMox, Veeam, etc.)
Excellent troubleshooting, collaboration, and communication skills
Bonus Skills
PRTG, LanSweeper, SQL Server administration
SharePoint permissions and Azure AD / Entra
Imaging tools (PDQ, SCCM)
Cisco switching/firewall fundamentals
Windows 11 rollout and policy management
