Overview
My Client, a prestigious Engineering, Architecture, Construction, and Consulting firm, is looking for an Overhead Transmission Line Engineer to support their growing Transmission & Distribution team in Atlanta, GA. Responsibilities
Perform, lead, and oversee all engineering responsibilities related to overhead transmission line design, including PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, structure analysis and loading trees, developing design criteria, sag-tension calculations, wire blowout, swing angle, damper recommendations, structure spotting, clearance reports, wire selection, and related tasks. Prepare specifications for construction, hardware, and material for high voltage overhead transmission lines; structure design and development; hardware design and selection; and field installation supervision. Prepare construction drawings and cost estimates for high voltage overhead transmission lines. Provide instruction and guidance to less experienced staff members; may develop into a leadership role with responsibilities to lead teams of engineers; experience as technical lead on projects and conducting quality reviews is a plus. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited program is required. A professional certification (EIT) and/or a professional engineer licensure is strongly desired. Minimum 3 years of related experience with routing and design of high voltage overhead transmission line facilities (master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience). Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in a team environment; strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills. Experience in 69 kV to 500 kV line design and working knowledge and/or expertise in Power Line system-based programs (e.g., PLS, PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE) preferred. Employment details
