PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Owens Corning's Global Information Services (GIS) provides a technology platform that supports the company's growing global business needs. In this organization, this role is responsible for the strategic direction, engineering oversight, operations, and lifecycle management of distributed and enterprise hosting platforms across the organization. This includes Wintel server environments, compute, and storage hardware, enterprise operating systems (AIX, Linux, UX), and database hosting technologies.
The GIO Leader - Global Hosting Services ensures these platforms are reliable, secure, and aligned with business needs. As a team leader, this position manages a group of technical professionals and collaborates closely with adjacent teams, including cloud hosting, to ensure seamless integration and service delivery. Maintaining a close relationship and management of our existing or future pool of suppliers and key partners is key to enable speed and scalability. With a lean and agile mindset, the leader has access to expertise and execution capabilities through a set of Platform Lead(s) and Program Lead(s), either in a matrix environment or as direct report.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowing Our Businesses and their Strategies
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Owens Corning specific business processes and operations locally and globally
Build relationships within the organization, cross-functionally, and with key business stakeholders; continuously enhance connection to remain aligned with core objectives
Understand how IT infrastructure and services are directly aligned with the company's strategic objectives by regularly engaging with vendors and key business stakeholders focused on distributed and cloud technologies and solutions
Translate business strategy into hosting infrastructure priorities that drive measurable value across global operations
Act as a strategic advisor to business units and the Digital Manufacturing organization, identifying opportunities where hosting capabilities can enable innovation, agility, and competitive advantage
Monitor industry trends and competitive benchmarks to inform hosting strategy and maintain a forward-looking infrastructure posture
Facilitate alignment between global and regional infrastructure strategies to ensure consistency and adaptability across geographies
Developing and Exec uting Strategy
Strategy & Platform Ownership
Continuously learn new capabilities and adjacent solutions in the global market, understand trends, and customer adoption criteria while building broad hybrid hosting services expertise within the organization
Define and maintain the enterprise hosting strategy, encompassing platform selection, lifecycle planning, and technology evolution in partnership with the Technical Transformation Team
Oversee the definition, delivery, support, and retirement of hosting platforms including Wintel, AIX, Linux, UX, and enterprise database environments
Ensure hosting platforms meet performance, availability, and security standards while aligning with enterprise architecture and business objectives
Drive global hosting infrastructure growth by identifying opportunities to scale services efficiently and securely, and translating those opportunities into actionable initiatives
Align hosting investments with enterprise financial goals, ensuring cost-effective delivery and long-term sustainability
Develop and communicate multi-year roadmaps that align hosting capabilities with enterprise growth, sustainability, and modernization goals
Consult while bringing guidance and direction across the enterprise to align programs and efforts that create standardization, simplification, and value for the company
Engineering Leadership
Lead a team of technical resources responsible for the health, scalability, and modernization of hosting platforms
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure, middleware, and database hosting environments
Collaborate with enterprise technical architects and cloud teams to ensure cohesive hybrid hosting strategies
Partner with the Enterprise Services Team to ensure a consistent approach to orchestration, monitoring, and automation
Governance & Lifecycle Management
Establish and enforce standards, policies, and best practices for enterprise hosting platforms
Ensure the success of platform lifecycle activities including patching, upgrades, capacity planning, and decommissioning through direct leadership and partnerships within the organization
Partner closely with Global Infrastructure Service and Operations team to ensure high availability and reliability of the environment and support systems
Maintain compliance with regulatory, security, and operational requirements across regions, systems, and applications
Champion proactive risk management and operational resilience through robust governance and lifecycle planning
Leverage data and analytics to inform hosting decisions and continuously improve service delivery
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with application, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure hosting platforms support business-critical workloads
Serve as a key liaison with the cloud hosting team to ensure alignment and integration across hosting domains
Build relationships with key suppliers to understand technology direction while driving best in class solutions that leverage automation, AI, and contemporary capabilities for the business
Engage with vendors and industry partners to evaluate emerging technologies and influence platform direction
Build and sustain strategic vendor and partner relationships that enhance service quality, innovation, and cost-effectiveness
Actively engage across IT and business functions to ensure hosting strategies are integrated into enterprise-wide initiatives
Lead and Influencing in the Function
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department and cross-functionally; encourage others to identify areas of waste (process, time, etc.); ideate and execute action plans to create productivity
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as HR, legal, and GIS on identity security solutions and automation and mobile capabilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information technology, or related field
10+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure or hosting roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity
Deep knowledge of enterprise hosting platforms including Wintel, AIX, Linux, and UX

EXPERIENCE
Strong understanding of compute and storage hardware, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware), and enterprise database hosting

Knowledge and working experience with IT Service Management platforms and capabilities (ServiceNow)
