Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a
Principal or Sr. Principal Non Destructive Inspection Engineer
to join our Palmdale, CA team within the Palmdale Vehicle Engineering organization. Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing, researching, and specifying Non-destructive inspection tools and methodologies and their related application processes for use in bonded composite structures, metallics, systems and subsystems. The candidate will apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material science to investigate material issues and provide solutions. The candidate will work in a team environment with other engineering and quality organizations performing detailed technical reviews of specifications, inspection plans, and standard developments. The candidate will provide technical and engineering support to the NDT department, develop NDT procedures and techniques, train NDT personnel, research and develop new inspection methods for production inspection, and assist in DCMA and internal audits. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Engineer include a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 5 years of experience, a Master’s Degree in STEM with 3 years of experience, or a PhD with no experience. Basic Qualifications for a Sr Principal Engineer include a Bachelor’s in STEM and at least 8 years of experience, a Master’s Degree in STEM with 6 years of experience, or a PhD with 3 years of experience. Candidate must have an American Society for Non-destructive Testing (SNT) LV III in multiple methods. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access prior to start. Salary and Employment Details
Primary Level Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00 The above salary ranges are general guidelines; Northrop Grumman considers factors such as responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions when determining base salary offers. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long-Term Incentives. The company offers benefits including health insurance, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, company-paid holidays, and paid time off.
