Overview
We are seeking a Structural Engineering Technician who has a passion for bridge and structural transportation infrastructure projects to join our team. The successful candidate will play an integral role in public works infrastructure projects, ensuring sustainable and efficient design. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to impactful projects while collaborating with experienced team members and shaping the future of communities. This opportunity is open to our Duluth or Minneapolis, MN offices.
Responsibilities
Engineering plan production for public works related projects, including bridges, transportation related structural infrastructure, urban street and rural approach bridge roadway design, culverts and minor industrial structural projects
Preparation of project plans using CADD including plan layouts, bridge plans, utilities, grading plans and assist with calculations and determination of pay quantities and takeoffs
Assist project engineers and project managers in a team oriented and supportive environment
May conduct field inspection/construction observation on projects
Minimum Qualifications
0 to 5 years of experience working as an engineering technician
Associate’s degree in engineering technology or equivalent experience
Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative group
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working as an engineering technician
Application materials demonstrate ability to develop and produce civil engineering drawings in CADD including experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or Bentley (Open Bridge Modeler, MicroStation Connect, Geopak or Open Roads Designer)
Strong communication skills; able to be concise and communicate effectively
Ability to coordinate with multiple internal and external disciplines
