Job duties and responsibilities focus on structural analysis and related assessments for industrial baseplates and supporting structures. Responsibilities

General Structural Analysis: conduct thorough analysis of industrial baseplates and supporting structures; assess load-bearing capacities, evaluate components and materials, provide design improvements and cost-saving recommendations; prepare finite element models and perform FEA of baseplates; evaluate deformations and stresses; report design deficiencies; create structural substantiation reports for customer submittals. Wind Analysis: assess wind forces on baseplate structures and develop mitigation strategies; design wind-resistant structures and identify reinforcement needs. Seismic Analysis: assess seismic performance and develop seismic-resistant designs; analyze effects of seismic forces and ensure structures withstand them. Modal Analysis: perform modal analysis to determine natural frequencies; identify vibration or resonance issues and develop mitigation strategies. Lifting Analysis: ensure safe lifting and transport of structures; assess weight distribution and lifting methods and equipment. Transportation Analysis: assess structural integrity during transportation; account for road conditions, loading/unloading procedures and transportation methods; develop safe transport strategies. Skills & Abilities

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Technical report writing Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and in a team Attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational and time-management skills Knowledge of structural engineering principles and techniques (ASD / LRFD) Experience with CAD software and FEA tools ANSYS Workbench, SpaceClaim, Mechanical; Linear Elastic FEA; FEM connections (linear and nonlinear); Nonlinear and Fatigue analysis; Modal, Wind and Seismic Analysis; Blast Analysis Qualifications

B.S. degree in mechanical, civil, or structural engineering; M.S. a plus 5-7 years of experience in structural engineering Experience with general structural analysis, wind, seismic, modal, lifting and transportation analyses Knowledge of software such as ANSYS Understanding of codes and standards (ASCE-7, AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI) Note: This position is incentive plan eligible.
