Overview
The Structural Engineer will analyze all aspects of industrial baseplates and supporting structures. Job Duties & Responsibilities
General Structural Analysis: conduct a thorough analysis of various industrial baseplate structures, assess load-bearing capacities, evaluate structural components and materials, provide recommendations for strengthening the structure, prepare finite element models and perform finite element analysis of industrial packaged equipment baseplates, evaluate deformations and stresses, report design deficiencies, determine design improvements, and create structural substantiation reports for customer submittals.
Wind Analysis: assess wind forces on industrial baseplate structures and develop strategies for mitigating potential damage, including wind-resistant designs and reinforcement of existing designs.
Seismic Analysis: assess seismic performance and develop seismic-resistant designs to withstand seismic forces.
Modal Analysis: conduct modal analysis to determine natural frequencies, identify vibration or resonance issues, and develop mitigation strategies.
Lifting Analysis: conduct lifting analysis to ensure safe lifting and transportation of structures, assessing weight distribution and lifting equipment/methods.
Transportation Analysis: assess structural integrity during transportation, considering road conditions and handling procedures, and develop safe transport strategies.

Qualifications
B.S. in mechanical, civil, or structural engineering; M.S. a plus
5-7 years of experience in structural engineering
Experience with general structural analysis, wind analysis, seismic analysis, modal analysis, lifting analysis, and transportation analysis
Knowledge of software tools such as ANSYS
Understanding of codes and standards such as ASCE-7, AISC Steel Construction Manual, and ACI
