Base pay range $73,500.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr

What you will do As a Structural Bridge Engineer and vital member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on transportation projects that focus on bridges and other transportation structures. You will serve in a technical role and/or task lead on bridge design projects and perform complex structural analysis and design for all structural aspects of transportation (highway and rail) projects on local and national projects.

Responsibilities

Perform design computations, plans, specifications, estimates, and reports.

Lead or contribute to design and analysis of bridges, including prestressed concrete and steel superstructures and substructures.

Proficiency with CAD systems (specifically MicroStation) and ProjectWise; familiarity with SHA CAD Workspace is a plus.

Utilize structural modeling software (CSIBridge, STAAD, LARS, or other) and structural design programs (Leap Bridge Steel/Concrete, OpenBridge Designer, etc.).

Apply AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and AREMA code requirements to transportation structures.

Perform QA/QC using Bluebeam, PDF-XChange Editor, and/or Adobe Acrobat.

Collaborate in a team environment, both in person and remotely via Microsoft Teams.

Qualifications

BS in civil/structural engineering (MS/MCE preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience on various types of bridges, including design, analysis, and plan development of new and rehabilitation projects.

Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in MD, or ability to obtain in 3 months.

Experience working with MDOT SHA, MDTA, and MTA; familiarity with SHA Guidelines, Structural Details, ProjectWise, and MDTA ASIR.

Ability to produce design computations, plans, specifications, estimates, and reports.

Experience with various bridge types and materials; solid understanding of both design and construction aspects.

Proficiency with structural design software and CAD tools as listed above.

Strong QA/QC capabilities and attention to detail.

Willingness to work in a collaborative group environment in person and remotely.
