Senior Electrical Engineer – Overview
POWER Engineers, member of WSP, is currently seeking a Senior Level Electrical Engineer to work with our Government Services Division. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to be part of an engineering team engaged in engineering design projects in the Government market including mission-critical infrastructure design to include power delivery, power generation, power distribution, backup power, UPS, system studies, renewable energy, MEP design, and related projects.

Responsibilities
Interface with internal and external clients and drive projects to successful completion within budget and schedule constraints.
Create and issue construction drawings and specifications, studies, and reports.
Apply good working design knowledge of grounding, lightning protection, surge protection, lighting, protective relaying, prime and standby generation, low and medium voltage switchgear, medium voltage substations, and UPS systems.
Demonstrate knowledge of NEC, NFPA standards, ICC standards, UFC documents, energy codes, and applicable IEEE standards.
Model electrical systems and run power system studies using ETAP, PTW, or EasyPower (strongly preferred).
Operate as a licensed professional engineer in electrical engineering and lead or participate as an electrical/project lead; mentor junior engineers and designers.
Develop training and mentoring programs/materials to support knowledge management efforts.
Prioritize tasks, manage project scope, schedule, and budget; collaborate with other discipline leads, PMs, and team members.
Travel domestically and internationally as required; work in a customer-focused, project-oriented environment.
Required Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University
Professional Engineering License with the ability to be licensed in multiple states
Knowledge and experience with federal government projects
Knowledge and direct application of UFC, UFGS, NEC, and ICC standards
Fifteen plus (15+) years of applicable experience in the design and specification of low and medium-voltage power distribution systems and lighting systems for federal buildings, industrial buildings, and site distribution
Specific knowledge of switchgear and substation design
Ability to self-perform all electrical engineering tasks: proposal, design, engineering calculations, cost estimating, client reviews, and construction support
Ability to work with other discipline leads, PMs, and others to manage and run all Electrical efforts for the project while coordinating with other disciplines
Ability to work with and be supported by other senior engineers for guidance and act as an electrical lead or project lead
Development of training and mentoring programs/material is beneficial
Ability to mentor junior or mid-level electrical engineers and designers
Effective in prioritizing and setting deadlines, while adapting to change
Successfully manage project scope, schedule, and budget
MUST have excellent oral and written communication skills, willingness to travel, and ability to work in a customer-focused environment
MUST be a US Citizen
Desired Education/Experience
Experience designing to NAVFAC and USACE design standards
SpecsIntact specification authoring and editing experience
Ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance
Experience with mission-critical infrastructure projects
Solid foundation in implementing CAD and BIM software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation

Base Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
The range for this position is displayed in compliance with state and local regulations. Salaries are based on factors including knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This range does not include additional compensation such as bonuses, health benefits, vacation, or 401(k) match.
