Provide technical engineering information and support to senior engineers to ensure projects comply with project requirements, engineering standards, applicable codes, and specifications. Oversee junior engineers, designers, and staff assigned to your work or team; lead projects of limited scope. Review, comment, and process equipment and system submittals in coordination with the Engineer of Record. Generate electrical specifications and develop complete and accurate sequences of operations for designed systems. Demonstrate working knowledge of equipment testing and commissioning; perform process coordination between architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical trades. Prepare designs, check and specify power, lighting, and auxiliary systems; prepare power system single-line diagrams and perform feeder sizing, over-current protection sizing, and equipment elevations. Conduct short circuit and coordination studies, arc flash mitigation, and calculations for distribution capacity (voltage drop, voltage droop, Neher–McGrath). Coordinate work with project specifications or equipment buy-out; visit job sites to field survey electrical conditions; may include on-site field assignments. Utilize engineering analysis programs and professional judgment to analyze loads, lighting levels, and short circuit currents; conduct value engineering; attend project design team meetings and interface with clients, architects, and contractors. Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors; represent the design group during construction to provide timely information for installation; attend Owner and Contractor meetings. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architectural engineering, construction sciences, or equivalent experience. Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of engineering experience. Engineer-In-Training completion or pursuit of Professional Engineer registration encouraged; LEED AP is desired. Combination of education, training, and relevant experience is acceptable. Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing requirements; strong oral and written communication; self-motivated and a good team player.
