Job Summary
The Service Development Engineer position within the Technical Services Group at QSC is a critical role that involves participating in new product development and sustaining teams to represent service and support needs. This role ensures that QSC’s service and tech support teams, along with QSC’s service partners, have proper tools and documentation to support and service new and existing hardware and software technologies produced by QSC. Technologies include loudspeaker, mixer, and amplifier platforms with corresponding software. The Service Development Engineer will monitor, track, communicate, and collaborate with all stakeholders throughout the product life cycle to ensure the success of the service and support teams while maintaining customer satisfaction with the product. Represent service and support interests in product development and sustaining processes to ensure customer and user experiences meet high standards. Deliver service and support documentation and training for internal and external teams on diagnosing and repairing hardware issues. Deliverables include quick troubleshooting guides, service manuals, diagnostic guidelines, and ongoing service alerts/bulletins, in written and/or video formats. Sustain and improve technical product knowledge of the service group by creating, updating, and maintaining service materials within online portals accessed by global service partners. Announce updates and deliver necessary training (in-person or virtual). Provide regional support to customers and channel partners to investigate field issues; collaborate with Tech Support, Service, QA, Hardware and Software Engineering to monitor field failure trends and respond accordingly. Provide general phone and email support to customers and partners. Contribute to ongoing team projects within the Technical Services Group to meet customer needs and company directives. Skills and Minimum Experience Required
Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering preferred. Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and apply critical thinking to support duties. Calm under pressure; creative, motivated, and adaptive learner. Solid working knowledge of current and legacy QSC products; understanding of assembly, sub-assembly, and component repair terms and strategies; solid grasp of analog and digital circuitry; and familiarity with Class D amplifier topology. Familiarity with Audio Precision (AP or APx) analyzers. Working knowledge of high-level programming languages (e.g., Visual Basic) and object-oriented programming tools. Familiarity with Oracle or similar ERP and Salesforce or similar CRM. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; experience with data repositories (e.g., Agile) and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence). Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ISO 9001:2015. bilingual ability in English/Spanish is a plus. Compensation and Benefits "The range for this position is $66,500 to $143,600. Placement within this range may vary based on experience and geographic location.
